An SIB publication in Briefings in Bioinformatics was one of the journal’s most highly cited articles published last year. The article “Reconciliation of metabolites and biochemical reactions for metabolic networks” was written by several members of the SIB Groups Vital-IT and Swiss-Prot.
The article discusses some of the major difficulties encountered in the mapping and reconciliation of metabolic resources and reviews three recent initiatives that aim to accelerate this process thus summarizing a project run by Marco Pagni, Senior Scientist at the SIB Group Vital-IT.
Briefings in Bioinformatics is an international forum for researchers and educators in the life sciences and other disciplines applying their work to biological problems. The journal publishes reviews for the users of databases and analytical tools of contemporary genetics, molecular and systems biology and is unique in providing practical help and guidance to the non-specialist in computerized methodology.
